For the second consecutive year, the Las Vegas YMF group held an end of year social. The event took place on September 13th, 2019, at Scenic Brewery and over 50 people attended. In a fun and relaxed environment, many of our members and our local young engineers had the opportunity to interact, catch up and meet new people. It was also a chance for YMF friends and colleagues to unwind after the long year of hard work and accomplishments in our local chapter. There were great drinks, complimentary appetizers and a fun time for all. It was a great way to end the summer and get ready for another successful year!

On November 9th, 2019 over three dozen UNLV civil engineering students and local engineering professionals came together for the annual Students Vs. Professionals Kickball event. This yearly tradition gives students and young professionals in the community the chance to meet, interact, and network; and some friendly competition is definitely always present! Once everyone was warmed up, the two teams took the field. After a hard-fought first half, it was time for everyone to relax and enjoy a bounty of pizza and refreshments, while they geared up for the second half. This year’s contest was a nail biter. There were heroes on both sides, but in the end the professionals pulled ahead to 7-6 for a win in the seventh and final inning. This win brought the professionals to an all-time record of 3-1 against the students, with their only loss coming in 2018. The battle is set to return in Fall of 2020, where the next set of students and professionals can join us to make their mark!
