On April 22, 2023, ASCE YMF hosted a FE review course at Black & Veatch, which was sponsored by GCW. YMF gave tricks and tips on how to take the FE and went over several practice problems to prepare for the exam. Lunch was provided to the students. ASCE YMF provides different events for students to network with companies and professionals and to give them many tools to succeed! We would like to thank all of the students who participated and would like to wish them good luck!

From April 13 to 15, 2023, Las Vegas YMF attended the Intermountain Southwest Symposium in Reno, Nevada. YMF participated by judging in the transportation, timber, and steel bridge competitions. YMF also volunteered to help run the event and assist our UNLV ASCE chapter with anything that they needed to have a great conference! The event gave an opportunity to meet with ASCE students, young professionals, and ASCE members. UNLV won the scavenger hunt and spirit bell, way to go students! ASCE YMF volunteered on March 25th at the MathCOUNTS State Competition grading students tests. After grading, ASCE YMF gave a lesson on Wind Powered Winches to the students. Students got to design their own impellers and see which designs were most effective. Students also got to race each other to see what the fastest design was! Join ASCE YMF for future events as we continue to serve the Las Vegas community!
