Kondala Rao Montri, P.E.
Company: Atkins Teaches: Geometric Design
Kondala Rao Mantri is a Senior Transportation Engineer with Atkins in their Las Vegas office. Kondala has over 12 years of experience in variety of disciplines including traffic studies, arterial and highway design and modeling, track alignment and trackwork design, storm drains, channels and other utility design and most recently Airport Design. Originally from south India, Kondala moved to Las Vegas in 2002 to attend UNLV where he received a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on transportation.
David Turner has over 13 years of experience in civil and structural engineering. He has structural design experience in a wide variety of projects including buildings, pedestrian bridges, roadway bridges, retaining walls, flood control facilities, water delivery systems, and sewer rehabilitation. He has extensive experience in the design of reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and steel structures.

Dr. David James, P.E.
Company: University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Teaches: Environmental, Wastewater and Water Treatment
Dr. David E. James, PE. F.NSPE is licensed as a civil engineer in Nevada. He is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of Solar and Renewable Energy Programs at UNLV. He has taught water, and wastewater treatment, ethics, air quality, and senior design classes at UNLV since 1990.
Dr. James joined ASCE in 1988 as a student member and attained Member status when he became licensed as a PE in 1998.
He has taught PE review class sessions for southern Nevada’s ASCE YMF since the early 2000’s.
Joseph E. Farre, P.E.
Company: Sigma Engineering Solutions, Inc. Teaches: Structural Analysis
Joe has served as President and Founder of Sigma Engineering Solutions, Inc., since 2006. Joe brings more than 27 years of bridge design and transportation experience to the local engineering market. As a resident of the southern Nevada engineering community since 1998, Joe has provided training and leadership for the younger engineering community for more than 19 years. Joe was one of the first local instructors to develop training classes for both Seismic and Structural design subjects for the PE exam preparation, and is proud to continue his support and participation with the ASCE YMF group.
Venu Parimi, P.E, P.T.O.E.
Company: Atkins Teaches: Transportation Planning, Traffic Analysis and Safety Venu has over 15 years of experience in roadway and traffic engineering, having graduated from UNLV with a master’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2004. He’s a licensed civil engineer in Nevada and was certified as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer in 2008. Venu’s currently a Senior Project Manager at the Atkins Henderson office, where he’s responsible for mentoring younger staff and the delivery of preliminary and final design packages. His hobbies include skiing, travelling, and playing fantasy football.
Suzy Trabia, P.E, LEED GA
Company: City of Henderson Teaches: Hydraulics and Pressurized Flow Suzy was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV where she attended UNLV and graduated with her civil engineering bachelors in 2014 and her masters in civil engineering in 2017 with a focus on water and environmental engineering. She is Project Manager at the City of Henderson on the project delivery team in the Utility Services Department. Suzy has been involved in ASCE since she was a student at UNLV and has held various roles as YMF President, Awards Chair, and Luncheon Coordinator. Suzy is also a member of ASCE's national committee MOSAIC (Members of Society Advancing Inclusion Council) since 2017 where she has served as the SWE liaison and the lead for the Inclusive Leadership & Engagement Tast Team.
Mehdi Khalili, PhD, P.E.
Company: Nova Geotechnical and Inspection Services Teaches: Geotechnical Engineering Mehdi Khalili is a Project Engineer at NOVA Geotechnical and Inspection Services. He has over 12 years of experience in geotechnical design and explorations; design, construction and evaluation of pavement materials and non-destructive evaluation of construction materials. He has great knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and numerical analysis methods for geotechnical problems. He has a great deal of experience in performing laboratory tests on soils, aggregate, asphalt binders and asphaltic mixes. Mr. Khalili is also a part-time instructor at UNLV teaching graduate and undergraduate level courses of pavement design and materials.
Raul V. Valdez, P.E.
Company: Clark County Department of Aviation Teaches: Hydrology / Open Channel Raul is currently a Senior Civil Engineer with the Clark County Department of Aviation where he oversees, manages, and delivers capital improvement projects for the department's 5 airports, including McCarran International Airport. Prior to working for CCDOA, Raul worked for 14 years in private consulting focusing on Water Resource Engineering. He has worked on a variety of design projects throughout the Southwestern United States ranging from water / wastewater pumping stations, infrastructure rehabilitation, large diameter sewer interceptors, water distribution pipelines, and flood control facilities. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Raul graduated from UNLV with a B.S.E degree in Civil Engineering in 2007 and a M.S. degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering in 2010.
Dallan Affleck, P.E, S.E.
Company: Bridge Specialists Teaches: Structural Mechanics Mr. Affleck, PE, SE is the President/CEO of Bridge Specialists a local Structural Engineering /Construction Manager company in Las Vegas. He holds PE licenses in NV (CE/SE), AZ, UT, and WA. He holds a BS from the UNLV College of Civil Engineering. His 18 years of experience includes Building/Bridge Structures, PW Construction and Program Management. His most recent project was the Reno Spaghetti Bowl DB. His local projects include the LV Blvd. Pedestrian Protection, CC215 Beltway, Centennial Bowl Interchange, LV Wash Pedestrian Bridge and Boulder City Bypass Ph1. Notable DB projects include High Speed Rail (Fresno, CA), SR-91 (Corona, CA), Eagle P3 Light Rail (Denver, CO), and SR-89 Managed Lanes (Dallas, TX).
